Race Counts will empower communities around the state to collectively envision, measure, and fight for progress toward a racially equitable California. To that end, it will develop a framework laying out a vision of racial equity for California and baseline indicators measuring progress towards that vision. California’s 58 counties will be ranked according to their progress toward the vision of racial equity, and Californians will gain a research-based picture of their county’s specific areas of equity and inequity, enabling partners to customize their strategies and advocacy efforts.
